Estepona

The Sunshine Coast

The Costa del Sol stretches along the southern coast of Spain from Malaga to Gibraltar, sheltered by the Sierra Bermeja, and is blessed with a temperate micro-climate which produces near-perfect weather all year round.

The village of Estepona lies right in the middle of this stretch of paradise, just 45 minutes from Malaga’s Pablo Ruiz Picasso International Airport, which serves every major international city, and 35 minutes from Gibraltar Airport, with direct flights to destinations all over the UK.

A number of improvements and new developments in communications are currently under way, and once completed will ensure that the Costa del Sol remains one of the world’s prime locations. Malaga will soon have an underground metro system to link up with the new railway station complex; the new high-speed train – the AVE – comes into service this year, and will cut travel time to Madrid by half; the coastal train line is being extended beyond Fuengirola to Sotogrande, and the marinas at Malaga and Fuengirola are expanding. A new marina is also planned at La Cala de Mijas.

Many exciting and beautiful resorts and villages are within an hour’s drive of Kempinski Private Residences Bahía Estepona. The narrrow streets, whitewashed houses and flower-filled balconies of Estepona itself are just 5kms away, the fabulous yacht harbour at Puerto Banus a mere 15 minutes’ drive and sparkling Marbella, jet-set capital of the Costa del Sol, is just 20 minutes away.

In the mountains, but still within an hour’s drive, are Ronda and the ‘pueblos blancos’, the famous white Andalusian hill villages beloved of Hemingway and Rilke. Malaga’s lively nightlife, seafood restaurants and excellent museums, 45 minutes away, add spice to the daily menu of leisure activities. The Straits of Gibraltar and their famous Rock, outpost of Great Britain and gateway to the Mediterranean, are just a short drive along the coast.
