Established 150 years ago as the first specialised winter holiday resort in the world, St. Moritz quickly became a favourite with famous names – film stars, aristocrats and international royalty have all wintered here. With the added attraction of its health-giving mineral springs, St. Moritz gained a reputation as a spa resort before becoming well known as the very first serious winter sports destination. St. Moritz is the only Swiss town to have hosted the Winter Olympics twice, in 1928 and 1948.
Blessed with a perfect climate of around 322 days of sunshine a year, St. Moritz is exceptionally beautiful. Set in an alpine landscape of lakes, forests, mountains and glaciers, the Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains is a dream destination all year round.
Summer activities in the area include; Nordic walking, mountain climbing, golf (there are 5 golf courses nearby), tennis, rowing, biking, sailing, fly-fishing, windsurfing and kitesurfing, to name but a few.
The airfields at Engadin Airport and Airfield Samedan are just 7.5 km away and Zurich Airport is 209 km away (approx 2 hours by car).
